From 22 March 2018 to the end of September "Genesis", the last great work of Sebastião Salgado, is presented in the "Reggia di Venaria".
Salgado is considered as the most important documentary photographer of our days.
Genesis, is the last completed project of the artist and it began in 2003 and lasted 10 years. The title is well explained by the content of this amazing work. It is an internal travel, a deep consciousness created through a song of love for the land and at the same time a warning for men.
Genesis is a long itinerary in a black and white photos that have the ability to leave you breathless with its images power that tell the story of our planet, of his beauty and variety.
Sebastião Salgado crossed all the continent and captured memorable shots of some of the most exciting places from tropical forests of the Amazon to Indonesia and New Guinea up to the glaciers of Antarctica, from Alaska to the deserts of America and Africa arriving to south America and Siberia.
A thrilling journey of one of the legend of photography of today, caught by passionate and observant eyes, which can see beyond the reality and capture the soul and the pureness of the creatures.
I was to visit the exhibition on Sunday and it took 1.30h approximately to finish the way. The entrance cost for a normal ticket is 12€and it includes an Audio Guide that help you a lot in being part of the photographer journey.
It worth the time you will spend there, especially if you like photographs as I do....
